Eine wissenschaftliche Studie der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin von 2010 kommt zum Schluss, dass durch eine verfehlte Agrarpolitik in Europa die Welternährungslage verschlechtert wird.

Das sollte sich hierzulande einmal jemand offiziell auszusprechen wagen: Öko-Produkte werden den modernen Zulassungsanforderungen für sichere Lebensmittel längst nicht mehr gerecht.

Glyphosat wird seit über 30 Jahren zur Unkrautbekämpfung eingesetzt. Zulassungsbehörden weltweit kamen bislang einhellig zur Auffassung, dass Glyphosat nicht zu Geburtsschäden führt - sonst wäre das Produkt nicht auf dem Markt.

Die RWTH Aachen hat untersucht, ob bestimmte Schmetterlingsarten durch den Anbau von Bt-Mais gefährdet sein könnten. Das Fazit nach drei Jahren Forschungsarbeit: Das Risiko für Schmetterlinge durch den untersuchten Bt-Mais ist vernachlässigbar.

In Brasilien boomt der Sojaanbau. Nun wurde das erste komplett in Brasilien entwickelte GV-Soja mit einer Resistenz gegen den Golden-Mosaic-Virus zugelassen.

Foreign Policy argumentiert beherzt gegen die Pläne der US-Regierung, die Öko-Landwirtschaft zu bevorzugen. Ärmere Weltregionen hätten unter diesem "Fetisch" stark zu leiden.
